7 Months!

Time sure does fly when you are having fun!

Moey turned 7 months this past Wednesday. The time is flying by and each and every day is more fun.

The month of October was very busy and a lot of fun. We visited our family for Moey's cousin's baptism, Papa was one of JD's Godfathers.

Also, this past month has been a bunch of firsts for our little Moey Moo.....

 We now sit up in shopping carts! She LOVES it. Its a whole new world up there in that seat! We surround her with toys, mum mums a blankie and a sippy and she is one happy girl!

 Moey loved Halloween! She was a duckling.

We celebrated a little early with Lucy and got to wear our costume a couple of times!

 Playing with big pink ball! About a week after this big pink ball got very sticky and no matter what we did....big pink ball had to be thrown away. It was a very sad day!

Moey got her first big illness this past month: croup. It was very scary. As soon as we went to the doctor and got some steroids she was a lot better. However, we also found out she had an ear infection. 10 days of antibiotics that didn't taste so yummy made for a cranky Moey.

7 Month Old Moey

Moey as a 7 month old...

We didn't have an official doctors appointment for this month, but when we went for the croup, she was 19 pounds 2 oz. Almost one whole pound more than last month!!!!!

-Moey really wants to be on the move!
She finally rolled over from her back to belly on October 24th. She hasn't done it much since but at least we know now that she can! Her new trick is when she is sitting up is to get on her belly. She is quite good at it now! She does that move especially when there is a toy out of reach. She can also pivot herself around quite nicely when on her belly and when sitting.

-Even though we don't let her watch a lot of TV, she LOVES the TV show Fresh Beat Band on Nick Jr. She sits right up and moves her arms up and down when the show starts with a HUGE smile on her face. Papa likes to call it "FBBs".  On Tuesdays when Momma is at class they get to enjoy that show together.

-Moey is still a good eater. I can see her becoming a little bit disinterested in her bottle. She really likes when I feed her and is okay with Papa feeding her if I am not around. She loves her sippy and is still practing how to drink out of it. She is better at tilting her head back to get the milk! Now Moey eats solids three times a day at school. She has a mid-day snack which is usually a bottle, some fruit and a mum mum. She needs to eat to keep up with all that growing she is doing!

-Moey still sleeps through the night! She takes three naps a day about an hour long each. On weekends she usually only takes two naps because we all like to sleep in. :)

- I can tell that she is starting to understand more. Moey has been lifting up blankets to see what is underneath and is starting to anticipate tickles or peek a boos. Smart Girl!!! She responds well to her name and she loves to listen to books. Moey says DaDa whenever he comes into the room. She LOVES her Papa.

- She is starting to object when you take a toy or other object away. It isn't too bad though, as long as we distract her with something else!

I can't wait to see what the next few months are going to bring. We are super excited for the holidays!!!

Moey is a big gurl!

At her 6 month check up she was 18 pounds, 4 oz and still 26 in long. 90% for both height and weight.

She has become quite skilled at sitting up and moving around to get what she wants. She isnt close to crawling, but she does scoot herself around in a sort of "pivot" fashion. (cue Friends joke....)

She has also begun teething. Poor baby is miserable!!

6 Months!!!

Whoops, bad blogger! Since the school year has started up and grad school is back in full swing I need to get into a better groove of blogging our little girl's life!

Moey will turn 6 months tomorrow. I cant believe it! We have her appointment this Wednesday so we will find out her stats then. I am betting she is over 20 pounds though! Big gurl!

Some tidbits about Moey as a 6 month old...

-She sits up!!! Yesterday October 1st we were at our friend Liam's 1st birthday party. We were sitting on the floor and let Moey try it out on her own! Usually she sits inbetween our legs on the floor, so she has gotten a lot of practice. She sat there for a good 10 minutes! We were shocked! She collected some of Liam's cars in her lap and had a lot of fun tasting them.

-Moey almost rolls over, from back to belly. She is so close!

-She HATES sweet potatoes and pears. I will never give her sweet potatoes ever again!

-She is still a great sleeper. Every night she goes to bed at 7:30 and sleeps until we wake her up at 6:30 to get ready for school. She always has a huge smile on her face for us in the morning. Recently she had a growth spurt and would wake up at 2:30 every night for something to eat. Poor girl was hungry!!!

-When put on her tummy she pushes up on her arms and has started to pull up her knees! Not much longer until she is moving around!

-She says Momma, Papa, and Baba....her three favorite things. It is so sweet.

-She is becoming more aware of what is on our plates and what we are eating. Not much longer until we let her start sampling some. I am so excited for her to taste Thanksgiving dinner.

-Moey is quite accomplished in using her hands. She is starting to grab hair, faces, and whatever is in our hands. :)

-Moey is very shy! Recently she will bury her face into us if someone she doesnt know is talking to her! It is so cute! She gets all goosey!!

Every day is an adventure with our little girl.
Being a Momma and a Papa is the best thing that has ever happened to us.

5 Months

Ahhh its September already!!

Moey turned 5 months old yesterday. 5 MONTHS. I cant believe it! I know I have said it a bunch already; she is growing up way too fast. Every day is something new and she just gets more fun each and every day.

Some new things:

-She HATES sweet potatoes. I think she throws them up on purpose.
-We started eating fruit! We have only tried apples and bananas. She loves bananas.
She eats solids twice a day now. Cereal and fruit after her morning nap, and veggies for dinner.
-Mo likes to cross her feet at her ankles.
-Whenever she is tired or hungry she has started this growling scream type noise. It is hysterical. She of course makes this noise while in public. I think she wants people to know she is around.
-We have started to let her put herself to sleep. We arent letting her "cry it out" but if she does fuss a bit I am not running in to get her. I put her down awake today in her crib to nap, and she fell asleep after about 9 minutes without her paci. I think thats a good start!
-She has become very aware of what is around her. Her expressions go from giggles to glares. She is so interested and takes everything in. She loves to look at lights and peoples faces.
-Moey started nursery school this past week! Her teachers are Ms. Erin and Ms. Nancy. I didn't like dropping her off that first day; each day has gotten easier and easier. Papa drops her off in the morning and I get to pick her up after school. Its like Christmas morning every day when I pick her up.
-She doesnt have a doctors appointment this month; I'm so curious as to what her stats would be. All I know is that she is a BIG girl. Big and healthy and happy.
-She is still fitting in 6 month clothes. She has a huge stack of 9 month "school" clothes. We are currently working on a Halloween costume and a Thanksgiving outfit. :)

Some great news for our family: Papa started a new job that has more normal hours. We get to spend all nights and weekends together. It is wonderful.

Thumb Sucker

Moey sucked her thumb as soon as she was out into the world. At about 1 month old when she started using a paci, she stopped sucking her thumb. It was sad.

About two days ago she found her thumb again. I caught her sucking it when she fell asleep in her swing today. too. cute.

So much has happened the past few weeks! I got to get back into the groove of blogging. Hopefully when I get my new lappy soon, it will be easier than sitting on the floor :).

Lets start at the beginning. August 3rd...We have a FOUR month old. I cant believe it. It just gets more fun each day. Moey is a comedian! Here are her Sophie pics. Sophie is SHRINKING!

Some things about Moey as a 4 month old:
- Moey is LARGE. Her 4 month stats were: 26in long (90%) and 15lbs 2oz (80%). We must be doing something right! We get a lot of comments that she looks like a 6 month old haha!
- She is an excellent sleeper. She goes to bed at 9:30 ish...sleeps until 7, has a quick bottle and then sleeps until 10. She is always sleepy exactly, and I mean EXACTLY an hour and a half after she eats. She is super predictable! So, napping is on somewhat of a schedule. She always wakes up so happy. She coos and giggles. Its the most wonderful sound.
- She loves to sit up and stand. Recently she has begun standing up when you pull her to sit! She wants to skip a step!!
- Her diet has expanded to peas and sweet potatoes. More about that later.
- She understands that a bottle, or the bowl and spoon mean food. She leans in and tries to bring her bottle to her mouth! She loves to hold her own bottle, but hasn't quite mastered it yet.
- The early stages of teething has begun. Moey is constantly sucking and chewing on her fingers; and drooooling. She likes to chew on Sophie's ears and feet. She hasn't mastered other teething apparatuses yet.
- She has found her voice! Recently she will just start yelling and cooing quite loudly! Hmmm, I wonder who she learned that from.
- She is a snuggle bug. She likes to sit on our hip as we walk around and bury her face into our necks. She also loves to take naps with momma and papa on occasion. Family nap time is usually in the early evening. The best time of the day!
- She is very aware of her surroundings. She loves to be held facing outwards so that she can see her world.
- Stranger danger has begun. When someone she doesn't know gets too close, she goes into the ugly-I'm scared-cry.

On August 5th, Momma and Moey went on a adventure. We flew to CT for 10 days to visit family. Papa had a hard time saying goodbye! He stayed home because he had to work.  It was Moey's first time on a plane, other than in momma's tummy. I was worried that we might be "that baby" on the plane; Moey did great! She had a bottle and slept the whole way! The engines scared her a little bit, but as soon as she had a full belly she was fine.

We also got to spend some time with our cousins! Moey had fun playing with Evan. Cousin Jorden was very sweet and gave Moey some kisses.

All tuckered out! 

It was a great trip. We also got to visit with Uncle Pete and Pop, Grumpy and Mow Mow, GG and PopPop, Gigi, Uncle Dave, Aunt Jenn, Cousin Addy, Mark and Barbara, and Uncle Ronnie and Auntie Patty, Uncle Rob and Aunt Loralee and their boys! She also got baby sat by Auntie Dana!!! I wish I had taken more pictures! What I need to do is download my pics from my phone. 

Moey was very excited to get back to Ohio and sleep in her own bed. We will be going back very soon for JD and Evan's baptism in Octobter!

We have ventured into new food territory! I was on the fence about organic food vs. non-organic. We have tried organic formula with Mo, and she didn't like it; well more so her tummy didn't like it. I think when she is 6 months and her tummy is more mature I will try the organic formula again. Formula is tricky. It all depends on how they fortify it, the enzymes can be different and harsh on little bellies.

 All of her veggies/fruits/cereal is organic. As of right now she eats, Natures Own brown rice cereal, gerber/natures own/ella's kitchen: peas, carrots and sweet potatoes. 

Moey LOVES peas and carrots. She isn't so sure about sweet potatoes. She likes them better when they are mixed into her cereal. I am cautious about starting fruits. With so many allergies in our family we are going to start very slow with introducing fruits.

Recent Ella's Kicthen purchases. Im liking the idea of veggies and fruits mixed together. 

And now I'm exhausted. Its time for bed. Moey and I spent a long time in my classroom today working. She was such a good girl. Tomorrow we are going to play with Aunt Courtney and Lucy. 

On another note, Moey belly laughed today. It was magical.
